Facility: BEIRC - Barstobrick Equestrian and Indoor Recreation Club

1. Acknowledgment of Risk

• I acknowledge that riding, jumping, and handling horses are high-risk activities that may result in serious injury or death.

• I accept that horses are unpredictable and I use these facilities entirely at my own risk

 2. Limitation of Liability​

• Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Owner/Proprietor, Beirc accepts no liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury, or illness to riders, horses, spectators, or property (including vehicles) while on the premises.

3. Use of Jumps & Equipment​

• Assessment: It is the hirer’s responsibility to check the arena and jumps before use to ensure they are in a safe condition.

• Ability: I confirm that I (and any riders under my supervision) am sufficiently skilled to jump the obstacles provided and will only tackle fences within my horse’s and my own capability.

• Safety Cups: Safety cups must be used on all back rails of spread fences.

• Breakages: All damage to jumps or equipment must be reported immediately and may be charged at full replacement value.  Please text/call 07761 294425

4. Mandatory Safety & Rules​

• Headgear: A riding hat meeting current BSI/PAS 015 standards must be worn and fastened at all times when mounted.

• Supervision: Riders under 16 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

• Lone Riders: For safety, lone riders must have a non-mounted person present or carry a mobile phone to summon help in an emergency. 

• Each 30 minute slot is for 1 horse & rider, if others wish to join they must pay the appropriate fee.  All monies from this hire go towards upgrading the facility for your benefit.  Please be respectful of all other arena users.

5. Insurance & Health​

• Insurance: The hirer must hold valid Third Party Public Liability Insurance.

• Vaccinations: All horses must be up to date with Equine Influenza vaccination

6. Arena Etiquette​

• Poo Picking: The arena and parking area must be cleared of all droppings before departure.  There are poop scoops provided, please empty these into the muck heap opposite the arena entrance.

• Restoration: All jumps must be returned to their original height.  Please do not move any fences

CCTV Monitoring & Data Protection​

• Operation: CCTV is in operation at Barstobrick at all times for the purposes of security, public safety, rule enforcement, and accident investigation.

• Consent: By entering the premises and using the facilities, the Hirer and all associated attendees (including spectators and trainers) acknowledge and consent to being recorded.

• Data Handling: Footage is recorded and stored securely in accordance with UK GDPR. Images may be made available to insurers, legal professionals, or the police in the event of an accident or incident.

• Retention: Recordings are typically retained for a period before being overwritten, unless required for ongoing investigations.

• Access Requests: Individuals have the right to request access to their own personal data (Subject Access Request) by contacting the Data Controller (Sarah Burton) at Beirc.  Please email enquiries@beirc.co.uk
