Who We Are
BEIRC became a SCIO in 2023. This is managed by four Trustees, and supported by a wide range of Members and Volunteers.
Chair
Kelly Telfer
Vice-Chair
Dugald Forbes.
I have been involved with the BEIRC Committee since it was founded in 2006. As well as being Vice-chair, I remain a local rider and competitor - and one of the few people who has actually slept in the Arena in preparation for an expedition with Senior Pupils of Kirkcudbright Academy! I am keen to see the younger generation come on board to ensure the successful future of BEIRC.
Treasurer
Sarah Burton
I was a chartered accountant and programme manager in a past life. Having been born and brought up in the area, I retired back here and found myself in demand. I hadn’t ridden for years and took it up again in my 50’s and was amazed at the facilities we have at Barstobrick. As well as being Treasurer for BEIRC, I am also District Commissioner of Stewartry Pony Club.
Secretary
Fran Milne
I got caught up in the Equine world when my daughter started with her love of horses as a 7 year old. I am not a rider myself and prefer to stay on the ground - but love all animals. You will often see me scoring at Dressage competitions. Most of my contribution to BEIRC is behind the scenes as Secretary and money handler - I'm so glad to hand over the Accounts to Sarah though!
Our Volunteers
Even If you are unable to commit to being a full Member, we would like to have a list of people who would be willing to support us with Events and maintenance. If this could be you, even for an hour at a time - please contact us here.
